The youth of two high schools inspired an entire community to make a massive difference in the world. Thousands donated shoes, hundreds walked without them - all coming together in solidarity to truly change the world. . . from the feet up.
Five representatives compiled of a high school student, CBS news reporter Neda Iranpour, motivational speaker Brian Williams, producer, and a non-profit director traveled over 6,000 thousand miles away to Tumaini, an orphanage located in Nyeri, Kenya. They lived among the 170 children for several days, struggling to live life without running water.
The team gathered their stories, heard their dreams, listened to their poems, and in returned, gave many of them their first pair of shoes. But what struck them the most were their beautiful "Banana Smiles".
Watch the impact you can make. . . from the feet up. |
